An interesting prayer rug with a very complex design in the central field. Mosques, minarets, animal and floral forms and, possibly, an attempt to illustrate the entrance to the central hall inside of a mosque. All hand-spun wool pile, warp and weft with braided goat hair over-casting on the sides. Since this was used for devotional practice, there are some visibly worn areas on each side of the field.
